Red Wine Sliced Beef Shank

Red wine braised  sliced beef   is one of the handy -dandy score and classic dish

that  we make it on a day or two before invite friends over,

a preparation and comfort food ….

a charming  star on your dinner table to welcome all your friends and families on weekend gathering.

Ingredients:

1: Beef shank      4-5 pieces

2:Tomato            3 -4 ( medium size )

3: 1 whole garlic            shallot     3-5 (  both diced )

4: Beef broth      900 ml

5: Dry red wine  2 cups  (measuring cup)

Steps:

1:trim the fat,  blanch ,  and drain the beef shank

2: heat oil in a deep pot, saute diced garlic and shallot till fragrant…

3: arrange the meat on top of the garlic and shallot, add  2 tbsp black soy sauce ,

dash of black pepper and salt… saute till fragrant..1-2 mins

4: add beef broth, cook over moderately high heat for 15 mins…

5:  then turn to low heat and  slimmer for 30-35 mins…

6: meanwhile, soak the tomato into hot boiling water for 3 mins…

7: rinse with running cold water …

8: peel , cut into big cubes and remove seeds…

9: add tomato to stew after the meat is  a bit tender…( 30-35 mins after )

10: add 1 cup red wine , cook with medium heat and stir occasionally till meat is fork tender

and sauce thickened,taste.. ( add a dash of brown sugar to flavor,optional )

turn off heat ,  drain  and save the sauce , set aside.

pour the remaining wine over the meat,rest till the meat is completely cool ( 2-3 hours )

11: place the meat on top of cling wrap, roll  and wrap tightly.

keep in fridge before slice and  serve.

12:  a- loosen particles can be ready  to serve with rice or pasta immediately

b- the wrapped  meat can be save for couple days,then..

slice and serve whenever you desire.

 * dip with the save sauce or just by its own accordingly to your own preference.
