Curry Beef Bun~

Left over beef is always  easy  for pies or any side dish you name it,

let’s be the ”  Bun Bun ”weekend this time with hot and spicy flavor…curry beef bun

Ingredients:

1: 3 cups all-purpose flour

2: 1+1/2 cupswarm milk ( 45C )

3: 2 tbsp soft butter

4: 1/4 cup sugar

5: 1/2 tsp salt

6: 1 tbsp active dry yeast

7: 1 egg + 1 egg white 

8: 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp honey ( for egg wash)

Tips: ( prepare a  plate of flour on work surface for easy kneading*

or oil hands with olive oil if possible to keep dough from  sticky to

hands.)

Filling  ingredients:

  1: mince beef         200 gm  

     ( season with 2 tsp garlic salt, 1 tbsp sugar , 2 tbsp corn flour and  2 tbsp corn oil for  10-15 mins)

2: onion   1 ( cut and chop )  garlic 2-3 cloves ( diced)

3; curry  powder   1 tbsp   paprika  1 tsp    butter 15-20 gm 

4:  milk   1/2 cup


Steps:

A: Filling-

1: hot pan hot oil saute beef, garlic and onion till fragrant,  add curry powder and paprika, stir..

 2:    add  butter and  milk, mix well,cook until sauce  thicken and set aside.

B: Dough-  

1:Put flour, yeast,1/4 cup sugar, salt, egg, egg white in a hand mixer, gradually add warm milk and start on from low      speed to high speed to form a dough
2: add soft butter and knead until smooth.

3: place dough in a slightly greased  bowl ,cover with a plastic wrap, and let rest in a warm place till double in size ,about 45-60 mins.

4:Punch down the dough on floured surface,flatten and knead the dough till smooth.

5:shape dough evenly  into 10 balls , flatten the edges and place 1 to 1.5 tbsp filling in the center..

     seal the edges, turn over and gently  roll into balls again.

6:   place each in a greased 9 x 12 inch pan with 1 cm apart .Cover with plastic wrap or kitchen towel, and let rise for another 30 minutes.

7:preheat oven 350F

8:Mix egg yolk and honey as egg wash

9: Once the buns have risen, brush with egg wash. 

10: Bake at 350 F degrees for 15-20 minutes or till cooked and brown.

   Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
