Crispy Shredded Taro~Asian Festival

Popular  snack for Chinese New Year~

Ingredients :
1- a large chunk of taro ( about 1 kg     choose a light one with powdery surface when selecting a taro)
2- a bunch of coriander
3- a handful of five spice power, sesame ,salt & pepper to taste 3 tbs corn starch

Steps

1-peel and shred taro ( with the hand cut better than grate …optional)

2- add seasoning… Salt,pepper…five spice powder , mince coriander and mix well

3- prepare 3-4 spider ladle ( utensil use for hot pot..)

4- place shredded taro evenly inside the ladle

5- hot oil hot pan, place ladle into boiling oil to deep fry till almost golden and drain.

Tips:
Place ladle into boiling oil for 1 min and press the filling with a folk, then left up for a min , and back to deep fry till almost golden , it turns golden after few seconds

    Thank you for a lovely recipe. I will definetely prepare this when it is much cooler here in Perth. We are in the high 39-41 degs this week n next week.
