Popular Asian Festival Dim Sum ~
1-2 Chinese turnips..(about 3 lbs)
2-Rice flour 200 gm wheat starch 3 tablespoon(mix and sift)
3- Dried shrimp 70 -75gm washed, soaked and chopped
4- Chinese mushroom 70-75 gm washed,soaked and chopped
5-Crumbled bacon 50 gm
6-Hot and spicy XO sauce 3tbsp five spice powder 2 tbsp
1: wash and grate 3/4 radish , 1/4 cut into shreds
2: mix rice flour and wheat starch, set aside
ready a bowl of chicken broth, set aside
3: hot oil hot pan with chopped shallots, saute dried shrimps
and XO sauce until fragrant
4: add mushroom, crumbled bacon, 5 spice powder ,
stir evenly, dish up and set aside
5: Add grated radish to a wok with a bit oil,and bring to a simmer,add 2tbsp sugar..
1 tbsp salt and pepper to taste, and stir occasionally.
6: Pour the saute ingredients to the wok, mix and stir well…
7: add the flour mixture, the chicken broth, blend evenly,
if it is too dry to mix..add a bit more chicken broth
and be sure all are well -incorporated…
8: Prepare 3-4 well oiled pan , pour the batter and ready to steam
Place the pan into a steamer and steam over medium heat for 45-50 mins.
Use a spatula to help demould the radish cake when it is totally cooled.
