Bitter Gourd on Ice with Plum and Hawthorn Sauce

Hot Summer day with a bite of icy plum haw  gourd,

definitely a good start for

chic chat and party gathering…

and it is very limited ingredients used,

fun to share to everyone..

Ingredients:

1:   2  medium size gourd

2:   sweet  preserved seedless plum    20 gm        haw flakes   35 gm

Steps:

1:  a-  blanch  sweet preserved plum ,drain and  set aside .

b- add 1 cup of  hot boiling water in a glass bowl, put preserved plum with  haw flakes and

soak for 30 mins, then  combine well till smooth as creamy sauce.

2:  cut bitter gourd into half, remove seeds and set aside.

3:  Add 1 tbsp of salt and oil into a big pot of boiling water,

blanching bitter gourd 3 mins the most…

quickly rinse and soak with icy water for 15-20 mins ,drain and set side.

4: Cut into wedges , place on top of bamboo mat  with ice cubes under.

5:  A-Dip with  the plum haw sauce or pour sauce  all over the plate,serve and enjoy.

B-Or mix well with the sauce then sit on the ice cubes without the bamboo mat.

6:  C- put  bitter gourd  with  marinade in a glass bowl inside refrigerator over night

for better aroma, reserve for  tomorrow.
